First time logging on in almost two years.. Sorry guys. I had some big and overwhelming life changes in the past while, to put it briefly, I was in a massive law suit against a psychotic lady who killed horses for pleasure. So my life was consumed with legal work, court dates, expenses, not to mention the emotional toll from the horrors I had to see and video as evidence. On top of that, working full time, and my horses.

Anyway, I have NO IDEA where I am anymore on here haha, I'm quite lost. I hope you are all doing well! I'm sure I owe some of you guys art, if I do please note me ASAP because I have time again now to work on things.

In case any of you wanted to see what I was talking about

before people start piping in with things like "looks like this" or "you should do this" etc. We know what the problem is, this started two weeks ago so obviously I'd of had professionals out by now to deal with it... sorry if I'm snippy but all I've been getting these past two weeks (in person, as well as online) is lots of unhelpful attempts at advice which are really just wearing me down.

So the original injury was a dislocated knee and a dislocated hip. Both have been relocated, the hip is still a bit off but it will take several adjustments to get it back fully in place. Her leg still goes immobile like this *NOT* from a locking stifle/knee (which everyone keeps saying even though both my vet and chiropractor say it isn't) its from bad nerve damage preventing her from being able to cue her muscles to work. There is also the possibility of a torn tendon but I'm trying to stay hopeful in the thoughts that it isn't...

when her leg stops working, like shown here, I have sedatives and heavy muscle relaxants to give her. After they kick in her muscles usually relax enough where she can move them again. sometimes this lasts for a week, sometimes only a day

My vet was looking at her again today and told me that on days where she is able to move it, I need to start lunging her for 10mins to try to build some muscle strength and try to "wake up" the nerves in her leg again.

Poor critter..

I know this is the third time I've said this, but I could REALLY appreciate any financial help due to my very small income/job situation.. I haven't bought groceries in a month and I wont be able to any time soon without some help. And unfortunately, the only sort of food bank we have here is incredibly religious and turns down people "like me" (non religious and gay. yeesh.)
horsesyeah@gmail.com is my paypal or etransfer. Thanks a lot guys, feel free to share

Aspen Update

2 min read
So, turns out that Aspen not only dislocated her knee, she also dislocated her hip... which means things are a lot worse than I had thought. Her entire groin muscle is strained and ruined, and since she's been doing so much compensating because of her injuries, her back and shoulder muscles are started to get quite damaged as well just because of the way she's been maneuvering herself.
She had her first chiro appointment today, bless my chiropractor- Aspen was in quite the amount of pain so she was lashing out a lot. Luckily no kicks were landed, but it breaks my heart to see her act this way because she NEVER kicks unless she is hurting.

As of right now, we aren't sure what the future looks like for her. Both my vet and my chiropractor say that we wont know if she will recover or not unless we try everything and see. Even if she is never fully sound, with enough work done on her, she should be able to live a comfortable life at least.

So chiro work is a must, I will be looking into massage therapy as well to help relieve her back and shoulders from the strain of her leg. A friend also recommended sports taping to me, so I'm going to look into that as well. My chiropractor recommended Trauma Care Gel to put on her leg/hip/groin topically, as well as Trauma Care oral to put into her food to help make her more comfortable in the mean time.

Any and all donations are still GREATLY appreciated to those who are able to! horsesyeah@gmail.com is my email for boy paypal and etransfer

Thanks guys, just thought you may want an update

Please don’t just scroll by this post, even if you are not able to help or really care all that much, a share would still be greatly appreciated.

This is Aspen's leg right now
Today my heart fell into my stomach. Why? When I went to go and fetch my horse, Aspen, I called to her from the gate and as soon as she started to head towards me I could see something was clearly wrong.

Even if you don’t know a whole lot about horses, it’s very clear to see from the above photo that her leg is not supposed to look like that.

As she tried to walk to me, she took a few steps and her back right leg dragged behind her, causing her to stumble and almost fall. As I went to her in the field I could see she was trembling all over- who knows how long she had been hurt for?

This horse is my whole world, I have had her since she was a tiny baby, so to see something so wrong with her immediately made my stomach churn.

I called the vet, and waited with Aspen for over two hours until the vet arrived. It took 40mins to get her from the field to the barn because we had to support her so much on her one side.

Fortunately, nothing was broken [thank god]. She had dislocated her knee some how which is why she couldn’t move her leg. My vet put it back in place, and we thought everything was okay again.

Until she took a couple of steps forward and it popped out again.

This happened quite a few times in the extent of time that my vet was there which is what concerns us both. It’s dislocated, but it wouldn’t stay in place once we fixed it.

So now what originally seemed like a simply problem, is now a whole lot worse. I now have a bunch of pain killers for her, and need to do specific exercises as well as hand walk her in a very specific way every hour.(I need to tie her tail a certain way to her side so that it forces her hip to bend which prevents her knee from popping back out)

So whats the problem? Well, for those who don’t know me, I am living in a very tight situation. I came from government housing and all my savings had been wrongfully taken from me from my family (and that’s a whole other story) so basically I’m living paycheck to paycheck with hardly anything saved aside. For anyone who may think I’m just being lazy and not working, I work 6 days a week 10-12 hour days (so 60-72 hours per week) but I only get paid $50 a day (Which is max of $2 per hour). I get free rent, and board for my horse which makes it worth my time- but it’s next to impossible to save any extra money when you’re making so little.

I right now have less than $400 in my bank account, which needs to get me through till the end of the month (groceries, etc) but now with this massive vet bill I can basically kiss all my paychecks good bye, as well as any ideas of food that I may of had.

Unfortunately it doesn’t end here. My vet said there is a very high risk of this being a reoccurring issue so she will need to have routine chiropractor work as well as massage therapy to keep her comfortable.

AKA $$$$

I absolutely adore this little horse, and will put her care well ahead of my own. Even if it means I have to give up on her future as an eventer and just let her be a pleasure horse or pasture ornament, I will be happy to do so and continue to care for her right to the end.

As much as I hate to do this, and I never have done this before and really truly hope that I never have to again, but I must ask of all of you. If anyone has any money they are able to spare, even the littlest bit helps, it would be greatly appreciated.

I love this animal so much, and will starve myself to make sure she is comfortable. But if anyone at all is able to help contribute a bit so I can even attempt to afford to keep her comfortable, I would be forever greatful.

And if you can’t donate, please please please SHARE!

My paypal is horsesyeah@gmail.com (I also accept Etransfers)

Thank you so much :(
